Once combined with food, salt holds an incomparable force. Just like the sea water it comes from, its power is hard to grasp, yet transportive and without borders. It enhances the regional character of every ingredient to its fullest, and elevates our daily cooking rituals in the simplest way.

With one of the longest coastlines in the world, Norway is known for its bountiful sea. Yet the Norwegian sea salt production slowly disappeared by the start of the last century. In 2014, we started on our journey to revive artisan salt making in Norway. By reinterpreting methods dating back to the Viking Age, we sustainably handcraft our salt using only the cleanest Norwegian Sea water with the intention of reconnecting us to our environment and traditions.
